When running CT IDX Pro and using the CT Listings Search module for Elementor on your homepage you can speed up the search results loaded by using the “Restrict Search to Specific Statuses” options.
- Edit your homepage with Elementor (reference)
- Find & Edit the CT Listings Search module (reference)
- Use the option “Restrict Search to Specific Statuses” (screenshot) then add a few in there like for-sale, reduced, etc…
That will tailor the search down and not make the query so broad so it’ll be quicker to load results. Rather than leaving it defaulted which will try and query the entirety of the database with thousands of listings, which is a very large ask in a WordPress environment.
To take things one step further if you’re using an “MLS Search” type link in your main navigation (example) you’ll also want to update that menu items link with the URL that’s generated from the search, below is a quick video on that process.
